Fun Conversations of the Week!

Oh how my children just crack me up.  This is such a fun age, especially when they say the neatest things.  Here are a few.

*  When 1st grade started this year Ethan was so excited.  He came home the first day and said, "Hey Mom...what is studying?"  I'm not quite sure why he was asking what studying was because he brought reading assignments home in Kindergarten.  I guess we just didn't call it studying.  So I proceeded to tell him that studying was when you brought work home from school so that you could practice it in order to learn it.  Then he shouted, "I LOVE STUDYING."  We'll see if he says this in a few years.

*  One day Hannah was crying and we said, "Hannah...why are you crying?"  Then she said in a very matter of fact way, "Because I'm sad."  She was probably thinking, "I'm obviously crying because I'm sad people."  Then another day Hannah was crying again and I said, "Hannah, why are you sad?"  Then she said in a very matter of fact way, "Because I'm crying."  Oh I understand now...NOT!

*  Rachel is all about spitting.  So right now she spits when she is happy and she spits when she is sad.  She justs spits and spits and spits and spits!

*  One day before lunch Emma was praying and said, "Thank you God for my family.  Thank you God for the military.  I pray for the bad guys that You would change their hearts and they would follow God."  Her definition of a bad guy is the person that the soldiers in the military protect us from.  I think it's so neat that she cares so much for the bad guys and realizes that they need to change and turn to God in order to actually change.

* On Sunday we asked Emma what she learned at church and she told us that she learned about Noah and the ark.  So Jeremy said, "Emma, would you like to be in Noah's ark?"  After thinking for a moment she said, "Well...I don't think so...that would be 40 days and 40 nights...I would hate to do that...I would have to pee pee."
